Since the fall of the Soviet Union the devotees of Lord Krishna and prominent members of the Indian community world-wide have struggled to gain government permission to share the glories of India’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage with the people of Russia. In September of 2007, the Moscow City Government donated five acres of land for the first Hindu Temple and Cultural Center in Russia. Their only condition was that we start construction within one year. This means we have to raise $1.9 million USD by January 15th, 2008 to get all engineering, environmental, site development, and construction drawings for approval and permits by April 1st, 2008.
